The doctor wont do that unless the cervix and body is ready. I know it's uncomfortable but if they do it when the body is not ready, the labor can be harder and longer and that is not something you want.

Im pregnant with my sixth baby. I was 3 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced -1 station at my 37th week appt. I just had my 38 week appt and the doctor said im 3-4 centimeters now and 90% effaced!!! I feel like ive been pregnant for 10 years... The process just takes forever.. Unfortanetley I have come to the realization that labor starts when its ready... There is nothing you can do to make it happen before your baby is ready... Its frustrating but you will get over it!!

You could, but I doubt they would agree. Generally, they leave you up to 2 weeks over due unless you or the baby are at risk or the baby is very big.

If you are 4 cm dilated then you are already in labor. If contractions stop then your doctor will give you something to increase them. Best wishes!

Can you ask your doctor to induce you if your 37 weeks and you are having horrible pain?

I'm not sure what pain you are talking about but they wont induce until earliest week 38 when it's normally full term. But speak to your doctor if they can relieve the pain. That is why they are there, to help you. They wont induce unless the baby is ready for it.

I am 38 years old and I am 6 weeks pregnant my doctors office doesn't want me to see my doctor until I am 10 weeks is that too long?

If I were 38 years old and pregnant and my doctor wanted to wait until I was 10 weeks pregnant to examine me (or at least talk to me), I would get a new doctor.

Would they induce you at 36 weeks due to very bad back pain and stree of a 3 year old and a husband who is just as bad?

Not unless it was life threatening either for you or for the baby. Most doctors wait until at least 38 to 39 weeks before they will induce. Some wait until after 40 weeks, but thankfully mine is not one of them... :)

Will vinegar induce labor at 37 weeks?

Vinegar will not induce labor. Please don't think about inducing pre-term labor. There's a reason why elective inductions before 38 weeks are such a controversy now. Contact your prenatal health care provider to discuss your concerns and the reasons that you want to go into labor preterm.

What if you are in school and you are 30 weeks pregnant should you go on bedrest if you are having severe hip pain?

When you go for a ultrasound and the doctor tells you that you are twenty weeks does that mean you conceived twenty weeks ago?

No. Your due date is calculated from two weeks before actual conception. You are actually pregnant for 38 weeks. You conceived 18 weeks ago.

How can you tell how far along your girlfriend's pregnancy is?

Ask her when her last period was. You carry a baby for 38-40 weeks from the first day of your last period. Do the math and you will see how far along she is. Also have her go to a doctor immediately if she has not already!!!!

How many weeks do pregnant weman deliver the baby?

If you mean, How many weeks of pregnancy before birth the answer is approximately 40 weeks from the last period or 38 weeks from conception. In humans the baby is considered full term any where from 38 weeks to 42 weeks from the last period. Each individual takes slightly longer or shorter to grow a baby. Nutrition, health, heredity, and the infant are all factors effecting hte length of pregnancy. No one can scientifically predict exactly when a baby will be born.

If a women has gestational diabetes how early can a doctor induce labor?

It depends on the weight of your baby. If you are diagnosed with gestational diabetes, your baby's growth will be more closely monitored than if you had a normal pregnancy. The main risk with gestational diabetes is a baby that gains too much weight in the womb due to increased sugar in the blood. If your baby is measuring too big, your doctor may induce labor around 37-38 weeks. Waiting any longer can cause delivery complications and increase the need for a c-section.
