You don't have to eat any...but if you do well, keep a glass of milk or beer nearby to wash ot down. I know from past experiences that eating it does very little for you, unless you cook it in some form. A friend of mine used to make those Betty Crocker Snak Cakes, and add various amount of herb to it. To me that was a waste, but he swore by it.
