How much money does a bank teller earn? |
[Edit] |
Answer
It really depends which bank you plan to work for and in which state/city/town/neighborhood it is located. Here in Hawaii, I'd say the average hourly rate for a beginning bank teller (not including credit unions) runs between $7.50 and $8.50. That's about $0.75 above the minimum wage, which is currently set at $6.75 (I think...). Well, I don't think this helps much, but you'd want to check it out with your local banks. It really depends on the type of neighborhood...the pay may be more, or way less...or about the same.
I work for Wells Fargo in California and they start at $10/hour, with possible fifty cent increases every three months topping out at $11.50. From there you can go on to either service or sales positions.
