You make more if you work for yourself as opposed to working for someone else but you have to work harder building a client base. This is true no matter where you want to practice. General rates are about $25 to $40 an hour plus tips when you work for someone and can go up depending on your advanced training and how "good" your hands are. I prefer working for myself but traveling with a table can be a real chore. I make $125 an hour and still get tips but I don't work as many hours as I would in a spa or clinic (double good!!!). I also have advanced training in myofascial massage and neuromuscular therapy.
