non officer 30-45,000
officer 55-200,000 depending on ship and many other factors. The captain of a large US flagged ship will make a large salary. The junior most officer about 60,000-75,000 I should know I am a USMM officer!
It depends on what marine ship and what company you work for ( actually it depends on a lot of things, like when you your boss mad, consequently, you won't get paid ). But if you are merchant marine officer, it does NOT matter what ship you are on!👍😄 You will get straight out $10,000 each month, so that means $120,000 each year!😱👍👍👍💰💰💰The other benefit is that onboard ship you have no expenses,so that your money earned is untouched until you get to a port or you take leave. Most merchant marines that I know usually work 9 months a year 12 months at sea is rough. You can also bring your wife along on some ships.
A merchant mariner does not have a set rate and their salaries reflect the individuals experience. Younger less experienced mariners makes approximately $33,000 while senior mariners can reach well over six figures.
All companies are different with how much they pay their officers, but in the U.S. Merchant Marine, the monthly rate of officers for American flag Maersk-Sealand vessels is as follows:
Third Mate: $17,000 per month
Second Mate: $22,000 per month
Chief Mate: $27,000 per month
Master: $30,000 per month
This is for a four month tour of duty. Chief Mates and Masters are permanent positions based on seniority and work 8 months a year, therefore they earn approx. $200,000 to $240,000 per year. Third and Second Mates must rotate based on the union hiring rules, and therefore that four month voyage might be the only work they get all year if times are rough, so for them $68,000 to $75,000.
Either way the money is out of this world.
it depends on the type of vessel we sail in but it approximately ranges from $10000 to $12000
It could range anywhere between 48,000 - 56,000 dollars but this is only taken on experience !
The starting salary for a merchant navy officer is about $25,000 pounds per year. The salary however can vary depending upon the company.
Only if a merchant mariner works on a government owned ship, otherwise the pay is from whichever shipping company that seafarer works for
