I am sure automatic was your first choice, and now you want a manual. It is best to trade in your current Tc and get manual one. The money you have to spend to have manual transmission installed, it would be wiser to use it towards your down payment. two much and not worth it you should have got a manual from the start yes u can convert from automatic to manual.. however it is not a simple task! you need whole new tranmission, then clutch, fly wheel and so on. it would be lot cheaper to trade in automatic for manual car. to find out the estimate, check your local import performance shop! Theoretically, but it would be very complicated and expensive. You would need (at least) the complete transmission/flywheel/mounts/shifter/shift cables & all brackets/interior console/engine computer from a manual tC. It is possible that you would have to weld or cut to make up differences in mounting locations for manual parts. It would be significantly cheaper, easier and faster to simply purchase a manual tC.

∙ 18y agoyoud need a donor car for that swap .... different computer ... brake and clutch pedals ... flywheel ... bell housing ... maybe transmission x member ...possibly the driveshaft .... dont know for sure it could also possibly interfere with your current cruise control and how it works with your automatic .... i would like to think Ford designed one exhaust system to fit all but you might just want to look at each car for cat and muffler placement

∙ 15y agoThat depends on where you take your car for the repair. Keep in mind that the manual transmission will have to be purchesed from either a junk yard and rebuild it or purchase an already rebuilt unit. That alone could cost as much as 1500-2000 including labor. Then you have to buy a new shifter, clutch assembly, clutch pedal and mounting hardware, clutch hydrolics, mounts, crossmember, computer. There is alot of labor involved in mounting all this new equipment as well. the total conversion could possibly cost well over $3,000 Mac's Transmissions Houston, TX 281-743-1000

A semi automatic would allow you to shift manually when up shifting for performance. A lot of cars appear to let you do that but, a semi automatic will shift into that gear instantly. Not when it wants to.

Yes, it is possible to convert a manual into an automatic. I converted my automatic integra into a manual. It runs smooth as silk. To tell you the truth and not to discurage you, it would be easier to sell your manual or even trade it for somebodys automatic. There are many Integra lovers that would love to get their hands on a manual. If this is not possible here it goes. It will be even more expensive to convert to an automatic than it is to convert to a manual.Why? There are more electoronic components involved versus the manual.(sensors, shift lock, ect.) These are the parts: 1: Automatic transmission with sensors 2: torque converter and plate 3: automatic mid shaft(manual's is different) 4: shift cable 5: automatic pedal set (brake and gas) 6: automatic shifter complete with interlock switch and harness 7: automatic cluster 8: automatic ecu 9: automatic flywheel cover 10: rear transmission bracket and the lower transmission bracket( the manual ones is different ( trust me I know) You will also need the top transmission mount and the top transmission frame bracket that you can purchase at Acura for about $50. You will have to cut the manual off the frame, grind the welds down and weld the auto bracket in place. 11: You will need a wheel saw to cut away at the center console where the manual shifter is. you need to make room for the manual shifter and the shift cable 12: The center shift console needs to be changed as well. The manual one is smaller. 13: You need the auto flywheel plate bolts, the manual one are longer. 14: you need the automatic starter as well. 15: you need the automatic radiator, the manual one does not have the tranny oil cooler in it. 16: The only other thing brother is the electrical. You need to run two wires to the shift lock, the reverse wires to the auto shifter, the cruise controll to the auto shifter and you should be set and ready to cruise. Now the only thing left is for who to do the install?

Hi there i also have a Mercedes la710kr if your just after knowledge of engine your best bet is to look for a manual for a Mercedes 408,508,609 ect... produced between late 60s to mid 80s although these have smaller litre size they are all (OM) models which stands for - oil motor- even Mercedes diesel cars of this period have the OM engines and the mechanics are all more or less the same. I have a German manual which has lots of pics so is of some help , this i got from eBay.de (eBay Germany) i phoned Mercedes in Germany and they wanted well over 200 euros for English print , well out of my price range. it would be good to hear from you do you live in UK.
