I'm not quite sure, but I think that about 4.5kg of salt will kill a tree. I read about this on some forum....and I'm doing the experiment on the tree that is blocking my flat so we'll see...
i'd like to know too. my dad said old timers put rock salt in toilet tank, so water is salty and slowly kills roots in sewer pipes. don't know if salt damages pipes though. Salt in toilet works (in the toilet) because it avoids metal piping (traps & such) in sinks & tubs (which salt Will corrode). It is a most direct way to main drain, which today are clay pipe or PVC. My experience is that roots only grow into old Clay pipe fittings & joints. I've replaced a 'few' with PVC & had no further trouble. If you can afford the major expense. But don't forget to irradicate the Source, as best you can.
Table salt kills trees and shrubs. Look at the branches of the tree. However far they spread out, is where the roots are. You would put lots of salt on those areas and water it. Make sure the salt disolves. Or, dig a trench in those areas and put salt & water in it.
" Nitric Acid " kill Banyan Tree but it not for lifetime . Banyan tree (Ficus Bengalensis ) is immortal . It has a power to regenerate in 5-6 month . So it can not be destroyed fully . You can try " SBK " or "Copper Choloride " or " Sodium Cholorate " - Creosote or " Root Kill " To kill a banyan tree . You have to give the chemicals into the tree with some water . The tree will die in a week . Thank You .
herbicide that kills cypress tree?
Drill the tree till you can see the center of the tree and inject mercury!
If tree roots are in your septic system, you really need to seek professional help. Rock salt will kill tree roots but they will still need to be removed.
Rock salt helps to kill tree roots that may be growing in your sewer line. You should try flushing 2 cups a week down your toilet.
Only if you put bath salt.
I think not!
yes eventually it will die
ya
Salt will draw out water from the cells of a plant or tree causing the cells to be dry and die. Enough salt in the right places can kill a tree.
Plants have different tolerances to salt. Most pools are between 4 and 6% salt. Therefore it depends on the tree and the % of salt in the water. However I say the answer is yes.
