The cost of horse food depends on your breed of horse, and what sort of work you are doing with him. Obviously racehorses would eat much more energy-rich foods like oats and pellets. An average trail horse should be fed at least once a day with hay and/or chaff. For an extra treat you could add in pony pellets or carrots. The average price of a bale of hay in my area is $30-$35. Bags of chaff start at $3 a kilo, which is not alot, and bulk buying does save!!
that' easy my friend has a horse and it costs about say 300 to 400 dollars a year. In total.
That is a very small portion of the total annual cost of a horse. True, the hay for a small horse in the mid west can be as little as $400.00. But, you need to remember that the horse will need it's feet done every six weeks. Shots cost about $200.00 a year. Paddock maintenance (if you have your own farm).
Board runs about $300.00 a month at a lower end facility if you have no farm. Lessons can run $65 an hour.
I would guess the total cost of a horse is about $450.00 a month on average if boarded.
If you have a horse/pony feed bags can range from $20-$60 although most just are about $40. Hay can be about $5 a bale.
That depends on how much feed it needs and what type of feed you give it. The amount and type of feed depends on the size and weight of the horse as well as how often and hard it's worked.
The cost of feeding depends on the size of the horse, the type of feed used, and the amount of work you plan to do. In England, feed generally costs between £5 and £15 per bag for mix or cubes, and the same for chaff. Supplements can cost between £3 and £20 but tend to last longer than feed itself. A 15kg horse doing 2 lessons per week, schooling 5 times per week and a couple of shows per month will generally eat two meals per day consisting of a scoop of mix, scoop of chaff, supplements, and apples/ carrots/ vegetables. This works out around £5 per week. If you are also feeding hay, add another £5 onto that, more for haylage.
If a small horse you should feed it 2.5 a day and if cpnsiserbly large 3 kg
Well, it depends on what type of feed you feed him/her.
Depends on the size of the horse, how much it is being worked, and whether or not it is an easy keeper. You cant just go based on the breed.
it costs around $800 depends

A Thoroughbred, like any other breed of horse, has a wide range of prices. You can buy Thoroughbred off the track for in the hundreds, but if you go to some of the sales you can expect to pay in the millions and anywhere in between.
