It generally depends on the person. Bowling ball weights run from 6 lbs. to 16 lbs. It's hard to say what weight you ball should use because it depends on age and strength. The best way to find out is to try out the "house balls" and see what one fits you best, if your getting your own ball add 1 lb to that weight and you'll have the weight thats right for you.
