Strange as it may seem, Venus rotates so slowly that a "day" on Venus is longer than its year. It takes Venus about 243 Earth days to spin once on its axis. The slow rotation is also in a "retrograde" (clockwise) direction, from east to west.

That "day" is the sidereal day of course. The "solar day" which is based upon the Sun's apparent journey round the sky is "only" about 117 Earth days. So

that's shorter tnan the Venus year of about 225 Earth days.
