You are required to serve a minimum 85% on your federal sentence. You can qualify for up to 15% early release for good behavior. So, 85% of a five year sentence is the earliest one could get out of jail if convicted, which is about 4 years and 3 months.

In the UK you must serve a minimum of half of the sentence you are given before being released on 'license'. You then remain on 'license' for the remainder of your sentence, providing you respect the terms you are given.

well you have to do 80% of you time that was order by a judge ... five (5) would be the very minimum that an person would have to do while fifteen (15) years would be the very maximum ... you can get out early or you can stay in jail for More then fifteen (15) years this depends on the conduct of the inmate ... more then likely an inmate will not get out in five (5) years ... there is possibility that the inmate will stay in jail for twelve (12) years out of there fifteen (15) year sentience ... the remaining time not in jail will be done a parole ...

How much time do you spend for a time served 1yrjail 1prison?

If a person is sentenced to serve one year in jail, they will typically end up serving the entire duration of their sentence. This means they would spend approximately 365 days or a year incarcerated. The exact amount of time served may vary depending on factors such as good behavior, time served prior to trial, or parole eligibility.

How much time is served on a 8 yr sentence?

It depends. Typically, a sentence includes the amount of time to serve in confinement and a portion to be served on probation. For example, and 8 year sentence may be called "8 do 5." In that case, the convicted would serve 5 years in confinement followed by 3 years on probation. Further, some sentences are eligible for a reduction in time. This may range anywhere from "3 for 1 good time credit" where a defendant receives credit for three days for each day served to 90% of the full sentence.
