Financially, Dame Elizabeth was doing very well before her death on March 23, 2011.

During her divorce from Larry Fortensky, Dame Elizabeth's net worth was estimated at $608.43 million (1994). That figure could now be well in excess of $1 billion - a 2002 estimate of the value of her jewelry alone was quoted as $80-$150 million.

The 1994 breakdown was listed as follows:

  • Properties: $127.45 million
  • Art and jewelry: $102.77 million
  • Stocks and bonds: $274.21 million
  • Interest-bearing bank accounts: $104 million

In one year in the 1990s, it was estimated that she earned about $2 per second ($62.9 million per year). It is estimated that her perfume line earned her more than $12 million a year.

This answer pertains to the art works auctioned by Christie's in 3 separate auctions that included works of art from The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor in the categories of Old Masters, Impressionist, and Modern Art. Not included are decorative art objects, sculptures, photographs, or art works (prints, lithographs, paintings, etc...) included in other sales during Christie's auction of The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor.

An exact $ figure is not available as many pieces were not included in the legendary auctions at Christie's December 2011 - February 2012, but roughly adding up the pieces from the auctions, the part of her collection that was sold was worth close to $30,000,000.00. The most valuable piece was Vue de l'asile et de la Chapelle de Saint-Remy by Vincent Van Gogh which went for $15,991,575.

The collection as a whole was extensive and represents what collectors of Dame Elizabeth's era went for. The bulk of the collection was acquired between 1957 and 1973, mainly during her marriages to Michael Todd and Richard Burton. Artists represented in The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor include: Frans Hals, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, Maurice Utrillo, Kees Van Dongen, Maurice De Vlaminick, Augustus John, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.

The original answer to this question regards the Krupp Diamond. Its original purchase price was US$305,000, which Richard Burton happily paid for it in 1968.

It wasn't officially an engagement ring. It is, however, the ring that she wore on the fourth finger of her left hand every day and in many films she made after receiving it.

After her death, her estate renamed the 33.19 ct type IIa D colored potentially internally flawless stone, The Elizabeth Taylor Diamond. It was auctioned by Christie's New York December 13, 2011 for US$8,818,500.

It was estimated at the time of her death by various news organizations that she was worth US$600 million to $1 billion. This was based on a report that was brought out in her 1996 divorce from Larry Fortensky that her net worth at the time was $608 million and change. One could assume that even with the economic downturn of 2008, with film royalties, her perfumes, and her jewelry businesses that the figure increased to closer to the latter figure by the time of her death in 2011, 15 years later.

When was the porcelain doll its highest in value?

in the year 4566 Well, that is someones opinion. For those of us who collect Porcelain dolls, it really depends on who made them, the rarity of the doll and its collect-ability. There are doll collectors out there that do not consider porcelain dolls collectible. Actually, there are whole bunch of doll collectors out there that feel this way. Porcelain dolls are a modern collectible, and with age and rarity their values are relative. I would say that most porcelain dolls are not worth a lot of money. Frankly, those of us who collect these dolls, do so because we love them. Values of porcelain dolls have decreased since sites like eBay and Amazon have become popular. Like with any doll, the value is what someone is willing to pay for that particular doll. Some porcelain dolls, in my opinion, are priceless because of the joy it brings to the person that owns it.
