It actually depends on a few things:
- Your weight
: If you're smaller/thinner/leaner, you need less water. It's partly proportionate to your body type. - How much you sweat
: If you sweat a lot more than average, you'll need more water to replace the water you lose from sweating. - The weather on the day you plan to run
: It is very important to consider the weather on the day of your run - the hotter it is, the more you will need to drink to avoid heat exhaustion and dehydration. - The distance you plan to run
: Shorter runs require less water. Much like body type, it is proportionate. - Your athletic experience
: Professional runners with lots of experience have trained to need less water during the run itself. Don't consider yourself a professional if you don't run often and long enough.
