Every woman is built differently, which means we all carry our babies different. Some out front, which sounds like you, some in their hips ... it all varies, but is nothing to worry about. The weight gain for an underweight woman would be 28-40 pounds. The weight gain for an average woman would be 25-35 pounds, and the weight gain for an overweight woman would be 15-25 pounds. Also I wanted to include how pregnancy weight is distributed. -7 pounds-maternal stores (fat, protein and other nutrients). -4 pounds-increased blood volume. -2 pounds-breast enlargement. -2 pounds-uterus. -7-1/2 pounds-baby -2 pounds-amniotic fluid. -1-1/2 pounds-placenta. I you out. I'm sure your pregnancy is progressing fine and good luck! Stacey

I've always been told from my dieticians that I don't gain enough weight during my pregnancies. I have five kids. I gain a total of 15 lbs. during each pregnancy. But all my babies are healthy with an average birth weight of 7 lbs. Just eat healthy, take your vitatmins, and you don't have to worry about how many pounds you need to gain.

ANSWER: It is different for every woman.I initially lost weight and didn't gain any back until I hit 4 or 5 months. I didn't really start showing until I got to 7 months, but I wasn't worried because the doc kept telling me the baby is doind great. Now I'm 36 weeks/9 months and have gained about 20 pounds. The estimate she will be a week early and only wieigh 6.5 to 7 pounds.

suggested weight gain depends on your prepregnancy BMI. But a good rule of thumb is 5-6 lbs in your first trimester then 1 lb per week during your second and third weeks. Total weight gain should be around 31lbs.

25-30 lbs. is the recommended weight gain. It depends on what weight you were before you got pregnant. Underweight women need to add 5-10lbs. (35)to that and overweight people need to subtract 5-10 lbs.(15)

The recommended amount of weight gain can vary depending on a woman's weight before she becomes pregnant and whether or not she is expecting a single birth or multiple births. For a normal pregnant, it is recommended that a woman gains between 25 and 35 pounds. A woman who is underweight should gain a little more during pregnancy while a woman who is considered obese should gain a little less during pregnancy. Also teenagers who may still be growing during their pregnancy should gain a little more weight as well. Women who are twins should expect to gain about 35 to 45 pounds and those who are expecting triplets should expect to gain about 50 to 60 pounds. Women who have a lower BMI (body mass index) before pregnancy or those who don't gain enough weight during pregnancy are at risk for having a preterm or low-birth-weight baby as well as depleting their own nutrient reserves to an unhealthy and potentially dangerous level. As with being underweight, being obese before pregnancy or gaining too much weight can also be dangerous. These dangers include a large gestational age of the fetus, increased change of trauma during vaginal delivery and of cesarean birth ( C-sections). During the first trimester a woman gain no more than 3 to 4 pounds. After the second trimester starts, you can expect to gain about one pound per week. In our world today, it is easy for women to be obsessed with their bodies and worried about weight gain but if you experience this anxiety, just remember that 10-12 pounds of the weight is accounted for by the fetus, amniotic fluid, the placenta and a woman's blood volume also increases accounting for an additional 3-4 pounds. After delivery, a woman can expect to be about 10-12 pounds lighter almost instantly. Withing two weeks of delivery, you can expect to lose about another 5 to 8 pounds due to fluid loss. The rest of the weight loss is dependent on diet and exercise.

Weight Gain Varies in all Women?

If you started taking in more calories than usual or cutting back on exercise, you wouldn't be surprised if the numbers on the scale crept higher. But what if you're doing everything the same as you always do, and your weight still goes up? It's time to delve a little deeper into what else might be going on.

How much weight should you gain at 18 weeks of pregnancy?

How much weight you gain during your pregnancy depends on how much you weighed prior to getting pregnant. If you were at a healthy weight prior to getting pregnant, you should gain 25-35 pounds during pregnancy. This breaks down to 1-5 pounds during the first trimester, and approximately 1 pound a week for the remaining duration of your pregnancy. So, at 18 weeks, you should have gained 6-10 pounds by now. If you are overweight, you should only gain 15-25 pounds during your pregnancy, if you are obese, you should only gain 11-20 pounds. However, if you are underweight, you should gain 28-40 pounds during your pregnancy. If you are having more than one baby, the amount of weight you should gain is higher. Your doctor will be monitoring your weight gain. If you have any questions or concerns, make sure you discuss it with your doctor at your next appointment.

Yes, it is possible, but it is not recommended and it is not healthy to gain that much weight during the first trimester. Most of your pregnancy weight gain should happen during the second trimester.

Im pregnant and gained 24 pounds how much will the baby weigh?

Babies usually weigh around 7 pounds. Weight of baby has not much to do on how much the mother gains. ex: if you gain 20 lbs the baby will weigh on the average 7 pounds. You can gain 30 pounds and the baby will prob weigh about 7 pounds.
