Well each term is four years so the limit is 8 years.
According to the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution, no person can be elected to the office of the president more than two times. In addition, if the person has served as president for MORE than 2 years, but was NOT elected for that term (e.g. if they were Vice President when the President died), then they may only seek election ONCE.
There is controversy over the 22nd Amendment's interaction with the 12th Amendment. See the Wikipedia page on the 22nd Amendment for some discussion on this topic (as to who is eligible for both election, and to possibly serve as President).
