It needs filtered / dappled sun at the absolute minimum, and is really best suited for full sun in a south window. Water when, and *only when*, the soil is dry halfway down the depth of the pot. Too much more than that and you're just asking for the roots to rot. (from GardenWeb site)

We live in Arizona and I have a kalanchoe blossfeldiana on the patio, out of the direct sunlight, and it is doing very, very well. I assume I will need to bring it in this winter but for the spring, summer and fall it is an outdoor plant.
