How old do mules have to be to ride them?

Answer:
All equids can be backed at three years but mules and donkeys, because they do not stop growing until they are five, should not be worked properly until then. That gives you about two years to school your mule under saddle (from the age of three to the age of five), whilst building up its stamina.
