I would say in his late 30's. Johnny Depp turned 40 just before the release of the first film (Black Pearl, 2003) and is perfect for the part.

Actually I think hes more like 50 something because in Dead Man's Chest his deal with Davy Jones said that he would have the Black Pearl for 30 years which came to an end so assuming he was around 20ish when he first became the captain of the Black Pearl that would make him maybe 50 ish.

Jack is only about in his 30's. He only captained the Black Pearl 3 years before being marooned on an island by his crew. Only to have Barbossa taking over. And in Dead Man's Chest I'm pretty sure the deal was 10-15 years because Barbossa only sailed for like 10 maybe.

* Given the time period from the first film to the fourth film (2003-2011), Jack will likely be in his late 40s or early 50s by the fifth movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales (to film in 2015 for release in 2017).

Nobody knows for sure, but I'd take a guess at around ... a hundred and sixty. He looked to be around twenty or thirty when he first appeared, then he lived through the late nineteenth century and all of the twentieth century, not to mention the first about ten years of the twenty first century. When you add it all up, it equals something around a hundred and sixty.

The answer to this question changes as the show progresses and is further complicated by the fact that Jack Harkness jumps through time quite often, so it is more difficult to track his age. He is roughly 30 years old or so at the point when he first meets Rose. We know this because he was born around the year 5070 and received an award for having a "large rear" in 5094. He also spent five years in a timeloop with Captain John Hart. Let's assume 30.5 years, for easy math - you'll see.

He spends roughly half of a year with Rose before being shipwrecked by the Doctor in the year 200,100 on a space station. So, he is now 31 years old.

He uses a vortex manipulator to go back to 1869. He progresses normally through time with a few small exceptions until 2008. In the year 2008, the Master takes over the world. Although that year of destruction was reversed, Jack Harkness was one of the few unaffected by the reversal, so this counts as an extra year. In early 2009, he was brought back to year 27 CE. At that moment, Jack had aged 141 years from 1869-2009, making him now 172 years old.

In 27 CE, he was buried alive by his sadistic brother Grey, but kept dying and returning until he was discovered in 1901 due to a radioactive ring. This adds another 1874 years to his life. In 1901, he has himself frozen until 2009, just after his departure. These frozen years should not count because he was not actually alive, but in stasis. From 2009-Present, he continues to be alive, thus adding about 4 more years to his age. This makes him roughly 2050 years old with the caveat that only 176 of those years involve real activity and the other 1874 years are his struggles underground.

It is not confirmed within the show whether or not Jack Harkness is actually the Face of Boe that Doctor Who meets in the year 5 billion, although most fans and the cast agree that he is. If this is so. Jack Harkness dies at the age of 5 billion because we see the Face of Boe die in that year.
