"Made in" only tells you where something was made, not when. In order to find out how old your porcelain is you probably have to take it to a specialist.

It started in 1887 with the "Merchendise Markt Act 1887". With this law Great Britain wanted to sign goods which were not from Great Britain. Especially at WW1 they tightend the rules, so that the people can see and boycot goods from the oponents. After WW2 "Made in Germany" got more and more a sign for quality
