Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the 'Mormon' church) believe that they are practicing the same religion practiced by Adam and Eve, so they might say that their religion is 6,000 years old.

The Church itself was officially established on April 6, 1830, making it 182 years old this year (2012). Mormons believe that the truth was lost from the earth at the death of Jesus' Apostles and thus had to be restored to the earth.

you could say that the religion started in the 1800's when Joseph Smith got his first vision, found the golden tablets and started publicly practicing the religion, however, it could also be argued that the religion started at Creation, which is the first chapter of the Old tesement of The Bible which is used in all Christian religions. The Book of Mormon which is another testement of Jesus Christ tells the stories of when Christ visited the Aincent Americas, this book is used in the Mormon faith.

The Book of Mormon was written between 600 B.C. and 300 A.D. It was then hid underground until an angel delivered it to the prophet Joseph Smith to be translated and published. It was published in March, 1830.
