How old was King Arthur when he died? In: King Arthur |
[Edit] |
Answer
Nobody knows if he even existed and therefore nobody knows how old he was. However in the medieval French prose romance Le Mort Artu ('The Death of Arthur') it is stated during Arthur's campaign in France against Lancelot:
... for they all knew that Lancelot was the best knight in the world and was some twenty-one years younger than Sir Gawain. At that time, Sir Gawain could well have been seventy-six years old, and King Arthur was ninety-two
So according to this account King Arthur would have been ninety-two or ninety-three at the time of his last battle against Mordred.
