King David was 70 Years old when he died

We know this from one definitive verse in The Bible: 2 Samuel 5:4

David was 30 old when he began to reign, and he reigned 40 years.

David reigned in Israel 40 years. It goes on to summarize where that 40 years were spent; 7 in Hebron (near his hometown of Bethlehem. while on the run from Saul, and 33 years in Jerusalem, where He finally gained control of the monarchy.
