How old was William Shakespeare when he wrote his first play? |
[Edit] |
Nobody knows for certain.
William Shakespeare was born in April 1564, and there are official records of his baptism, marriage and the baptisms of his Children - the last of these were his twins born in January or February 1585 in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Between that date, and 1592, there is no record of what he did or where he lived.
In 1592. there is a record of a London critic writing an unfavourable review of one of his plays, and this is the first mention of him as a dramatist in the historical record.
His first play was, therefore, written in or before 1592, when he was 28 years old, but exactly when is not known.
