How old was the virgin Mary?

Answer:
At the time of Jesus' birth probably just a teenager. In Isiah's prophesy where he states that a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and will call him Emmanuel (God with us) the Hebrew word used for virgin is the same as that for 'young girl' as opposed to 'woman'. Therefore Mary would have been equivalent to a young modern teenager (say 14, 15 or 16). However, her subsequent pregnancies (as Jesus had several brothers and sisters) would have been at a more mature age going into her twenties.
