Why not try MDI Converter? With the software you can convert mdi or tiff files to pdf, jpg, and so on. See in http://www.mdiconverter.com

Because it sucks. All my mdi files are OCR'ed and mdiconvertor just gives me no options when converting to pdf and makes just an pdf image! Useless for mdi documents with text that you want to search through.
