it's different for everyone depending on how well you take pain and how confident/experienced your piercer is. if you go to a proper place where the equipment is sterile and the piercer is experienced it should'NT really hurt at all, as i found from experience. also, if it is pierced well it shouldn't hurt afterwards unless touching/lying on it. many people told me that it would be painful for a number or weeks and it wasn't. except for when being cleaned - but if you use cotton buds to clean, they enable you to get closer to the hole where it was pierced, preventing infection and is not painful whatsoever.
but from personal experience, i did not find it as painful as everyone makes it sound, it is more painful than lobe piercings due to the cartiladge but i do not take pain well and this was fine. :]
