Guinea Pigs are great pets for several reasons. They live in a contained environment but they can be held, loved and played with like cats or dogs but you can control their environment. I have always had Guinea Pigs and they get along great with other pets.

Before getting a guinea pig, make sure you know everything there is to know about them. They also require a lot of space and time from you in order to stay healthy. There are many owners that cannot care for or get bored with their pets as they grow up from children and dump them at your local shelter.
