Alfa Romeos in general, and especially models prior to the year 2000, are not considered to be very reliable cars. The Spider model is not an exception to this rule, although the current-generation Alfa Spider, based on the Brera coupe, is relatively more reliable.
But hey, if you consider yourself a real 'Alfisti', the reliability issues shouldn't bother you.
