How should people believe in god with all these stories about space and aliens?

Answer:
God transcends things like space and aliens.

God as we know Him, and conceptualize Him, is the Creator of all things, including outer space, and aliens (if they exist). The very elements of time and space are included as being part of Creation, and would not exist without their Creator.

Part of the natural Law of Thermodynamics states that all closed systems tend toward entropy - in other words, they tend to decay and break down into to smaller and smaller components. Why do I mention this? Well, one argument that atheists put forward is that possibly the universe always existed - if you say that God always existed, well then why not the universe itself? But had the universe always existed, it would by now, be merely a lot of random atoms floating in space, as all systems that are closed move toward entropy.

Those who would then argue that maybe our universe is not a closed system but is part of a larger picture are ignoring what the word "universe" implies. If there is more than one, this would more correctly be termed a "multi-verse" rather than a "universe".

The universe, like all physical things, is finite, that is, it had a beginning, and as an all-encompassing closed system, will have an end. All religions are pretty much in agreement on this one. Only God - however we believe Him to be - stands outside of this.
