How should you deal with someone who really likes you though you don't like them anymore but you don't want to hurt them?

However you try to put it, its still going to hurt him/her so just come straight and DON'T ever use the lets just be friends line, it will probably not be like that.

This happened to me over the summer except the guy never told me, he just ignored me. Don't do that! Tell the girl that your feelings for her have changed from before. She will understand, just say it nicely and TALK TO HER IN PERSON AND ALONE.

Bottom Line: there is no way this person isn't going to get slightly hurt (they're finding out the person they like doesn't like them anymore) There is no cure for a broken heart no matter how small the wound will be but try to be there for them it wont be easy for you either.

You either act really nice and cool about it, but let the person who likes you know that you don't like them, or you go and be absolutely mean and brutal about it. Both have their pros and cons.

if you're really nice and cool about it, the main con is that they probably will become a tad bit annoying. The pro is that you don't have to put up with their whining and complaining and you don't have to listen to the "no one likes me" story or the "my life sucks" story.

If you're brutal, you will receive a the same from that person; and they will be mean and as brutal back. However, I guarantee they will temporarily not like you at all.

Whichever you do, it will work in one way or another.

The first thing I can tell you not to do is tell it to their face. Especially to a girl, they HATE that. What you can do it kind of gradually shift apart, let nature take its course and show her/him that you are closer with someone else. Hopefully they will take the hint.

Tell the person to their face because it's more hurtful when they think you don't even have the guts to tell them to their face. How you want to say it is like this: "Look, we have had good times together, and at first I really liked you but now I just don't feel it between us anymore. Nothing personal, I think your a great person and all just, I don't think we were meant to be."

Tell them the truth or it will hurt more in the long run. It will all be okay.

Tell the person to their face. The same thing happened to me and to be honest the girl was making up excuses. We were pretty good friends and I told her and she said the words I wanted to hear least " LETS BE FRIENDS " I wanted to stay friends but the worst part was that she changed and stopped talking to me. Man did that hurt. So the main thing you should do is tell the person to their face and dont EVER use the "lets be friends" line and try to play it cool like it never happened, even though it may be awkward.

As the one who got dumped, I know it's painful, but it is definitely better to tell them to their face, because if you don't they will think you are a coward. Just be sure you don't like them any more, because if you change your mind chances are they will have gotten over you. And don't bring up the "just friends" topic unless they do, it just makes it hurt more.

You should just come out and be truthful to them and tell them you just want to be friends. Even if it hurts them they will get over it someday and so will you. Just don't keep dating them if you don't really like them. That means you would just be dating them because you feel sorry for them, AND EVERYONE HATES THAT!

Let them down easy tell them how you feel about them than try and find someone that better fits them and that is perfect for them. Get them to like each other trust me it works.
