How should you give an example of when you have 'delivered or received great service' in a job interview? In: Job Interviews |

Answer
Usually this question is asked when interviewing for a customer service position. You should think of a specific example, and describe it.
Use an example of you GIVING great service, if at all possible. For example: I worked at Arnie's Steakhouse in Aurora. We had a mom come in with a baby and a crying toddler. Before their food arrived, I could tell the other customers were getting annoyed. I got some crayons and crackers for the toddler, and she stopped crying.
If you've never had a customer service job, use an example of service you've received. Example: I went to the Red Robin restaurant next door to the movie theater in Aurora IL. Much to my surprise, they were mobbed on a Sunday afternoon at 3 pm, with only 3 wait staff on duty. Nevertheless, Tonya, the waitress was polite and helpful. The manager was helping to deliver food and the busboy refilled my drink. The staff showed great teamwork to deliver good service despite the rush.
Not to be mean, but if you've racked your brain and you can't think of any examples, maybe this isn't the right career for you.
