It depends what country you're in - the rules vary from country to country. In the UK, it's at least six months, andyou must be taking no medication. Contact the blood donor organisation in your country for an accurate answer.

The recommended time for usual donors is atleat 3 months after the previous donation to give time for the body to generate new blood cells. However, since you lost blood due to the surgery longer period of time should be considred so maybe 6 months or so.
