I'd guess about 4 to 6 weeks. Talk to your doctor before starting to excercise. You could really hurt yourself if you start too early.

I agree. I had an open appendectomy two months ago and i wasn't allowed to go to school for 2 weeks (i am only 13 years old) and i was not allowed to do physical activities for another two weeks, so i would say about a month before doing exercise but my surgeon told me that he was being generous saying not to do physical activities because he said i will be able to do them before 4 weeks. So i would say 3 weeks to a month.

Answer:

It depends on what kind of surgery you had. not all abdominal surgery is created equally. It would depend on if you had open surgery or laparoscopic. Depending on the kind of surgery it could be 3 weeks or more than 3 months. It also depends on what kind of exercise.

It would be best if you waited for at least 30 days following an appendectomy. Talk to your doctor, since it might be even longer if you did not heal properly.

Absolutely follow your doctor's instructions. Despite the size of the wounds that you see on the outside, there may be major healing going on.

You should wait 3 weeks. If you are feeling that may not be enough time try 4 weeks.

What is the difference between open heart surgery and bi pass surgery?

The term "open heart surgery" is really used incorrectly. We use it to mean a surgery where the chest is cut open to get the heart. A "bypass surgery" is where they cut open your chest and reroute the large blood vessels (arteries) on the outside of the heart. We do wrongfully call Bypass Surgery a type of Open Heart Surgery. But I would call a real "open heart surgery" where they cut open the chest and then cut open the heart to work inside the heart, like replace valves.

Can you work out after gum surgery?

While it can be very dangerous and cause your gums not to heal properly, it is possible to work out after having gum surgery. When you 'work out' or do major exercise it can put a small (or large, depending on how much exercise or 'working out' you do) amount of strain on your gums. If you have just had surgery (i.e., just got back from the dentist/doctor), the strain associated with physical exertion is often enough to cause the gums to bleed, as well as sometimes enough to split open any stitches which may have been used to close the incision(s) in the gum. It is best to err on the side of caution. If you absolutely must work out or physically exert yourself within a day or two after having undergone gum surgery, make sure the level of exertion is low.
