Answer
If you are considering an abortion - THE SOONER the better! I had to make the choice recently after having 4 kids - my age and other factors made it an option i HAD to seriously consider. I had it done asap at 3 1/2 wks conception and the doc showed me what he removed, just looked like some blood spats. I feel OK with my choice an have never looked back. If I had waited longer, I think it would have been harder.
IF you are very early you can take a pill - remember that when you go to a doc, most add 2 weeks to conception date. Conception is when the little seed actually begins to grow. NOT from the date of your last period.
If I were you, Id get on the phone and get my options asap - most insurance's wont cover this so find options - most places will answer all your question and give you all your options right away:) I wish you the best!

Wanted to add, 3 1/2 wks is not as early as you can have one. I was out of town and had to wait that long. Mornign after pill - I think is taken within 9 days after conception - then there is also another pill and I am unsure as to how far along that is an option. Again just make a call, and they will explain all options.
Answer
Most clinics advice that you are at least 6-7 weeks before making an appointment.
