The earliest a doctor can get a baby's heartbeat on a Doppler inside the womb is 9 weeks... any earlier and it might not be able to be heard! Hope this helps... on the flip side you should take into account your size. If you are smaller it might happen sooner and if you are larger than it may happen a little later.
With an ultrasound, at about 3 or 4 weeks. With the device the doctor uses in the room, at about 9 weeks. I don't know for the things you buy at the store.
I am going to disagree with this last answer. With a vaginal ultra sound a heartbeat can be detected as early as 6 weeks gestation but more commonly by 7-8 weeks gestation. Of course she could be right and we are just counting the weeks differently.
With my first child my Dr. could hear my son's heart beat at 7 weeks with out a ultra sound and now being pregnant with my second child and having the experience in a medical setting working in a OB practice I have heard my baby's heart beat at 5 weeks and 3 days.
actually my wife & i heard the baby heart beat @ 6 weeks and 2 days threw ultra sound! and she is not very thin she is average about 150! 5"2. Honestly if you dont hear a heart beat by 7 weeks you need to get an internal ulta sound which most obs have!
**Have to disagree with this.
It is not possible to 'hear' the heart beat this early - in an ultrasound you can only see it. Being able to see it really has nothing to do with the woman's weight at all.
If it is there, you can see it.
Otherwise the details are correct.
In terms of hearing, they say around 9weeks to hear with the fetal doppler!

Through the Belly, no probably not, but through a trans-vaginal ultrasound, yes it IS possible to hear the heartbeat around 7 weeks :-) which is what he is talking about above... you cannot say it's impossible. It's not. Just because it wasn't possible in your case doesn't mean anything. Try a different ultrasound method.
Saw - not heard.
Research has shown that fetuses hear and respond to the mothers voice early in the first trimester. It is believed the muffled sound of the mother's voice in the womb precipitates the first stage of infant bonding.
As early as 7 weeks. Depending on factors such as your height, weight and the location of your uterus, you may not be able to hear it until 13 weeks plus. 11-12 weeks is the norm.
You won't, but later in the pregnancy you can feel it move.
Baby's heart beat can be heared through ultrasound scan at 7th week onwards .... The first thing to form is the baby's heart and its at 7th week start...
Around 3 months
About 6 months along.
A baby can hear. When they are born they can hear and it is through hearing they learn to talk.
How soon
It probably means she would really like to hear from you soon,
Yes, the baby can hear you at this point! Not only can the baby hear you but can also hear Daddy, dogs, tv, radio etc. My doc said at 20 weeks it is a good time to start reading to the baby
About 3 months, usually respiratory system of the baby develops at 12 weeks of age. ** The fetus's heart starts beating at five weeks gestation. Through an ultrasound you can see the ultrasound at about 6-7 weeks. With a fetal Doppler you can hear the heart beat at about 9 weeks.
Edward could hear Bella's baby's, or Renessmee's, thoughts. At one point, he actually tells Bella that the baby is thinking about her love of Bella and wants to hear her voice.
Baby birds are born being able to hear. It is their way of identifying their parents who chirp and make noises at them.
because your baby is breaking
From what I believe this is not correct English. 'May you hear from your sister soon' isn't correct. May is used for asking permission. ------------------------------------------- I hope to hear from my sister soon (as in :I am worried about her, she has not called me recently) Will I hear from your sister soon (as in :asked of a brother) I may hear from my sister soon (as in :I am expecting a phone call this week) Your version, apart from being incorrect English (as said above 'May you' is wrong and even if you were asking permission it would be 'May I' not 'May you'), leaves the exact meaning of what you are trying to convey ambiguous.
If your baby lovebirds are hungry you will hear them chatter.
