Is it possible for symptoms of pregnancy to occur earlier than normal when carrying twins and if so how soon could it be after conception?

I have had two twin pregnancies and my symptoms where extreme nausea and exhaustion from very early on. The extra weight and demands being made on the body from a multiple pregnancy can mean you get very tired indeed. The last trimester is hard as your baby bump can get very large.

The symptoms vary from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy. I had one baby the first time and my symptoms didn't start until I was five weeks pregnant, then I had very sore breasts and evening nausea and tiredness. The second time I had twins and I had no nausea, tiredness or sore breasts at all. In fact apart from missing my period I would not have known I was pregnant. But that is just me, every one is is different.

it doesnt matter if you are carrying twins or a single baby, the signs are the same and having twins doesnt make them sooner or stronger. usually if you have twins they cant tell until you are around 3+mnths unless you have to have an ultrasound for some reason. so the answer to your question is no they wouldn't appear sooner than someone carrying one baby. ob/gyn nurse

Here are some symptoms I found for you. Seeing is believing... the only way to indisputably confirm a twin or multiple pregnancy is to see it -- via ultrasound. An ultrasound image can indicate without a doubt if there is more than one fetus. Ultimately, no matter what other signs or symptoms you have, the only way you'll know for sure is to have an ultrasound. Using harmless sound waves, a Doppler system amplifies fetal heart sounds, usually distinguishable late in the first trimester. An experienced physician or midwife can detect more than one heartbeat, indicating a multiple pregnancy. However, the sounds can be misleading; what appears to be a second heartbeat may actually be background noise or, rarely, the mother's own heartbeat.

For various reasons, doctors may monitor HcG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels. HcG is a hormone detectable in pregnant women's blood or urine about 10 days post-conception; it increases at a rapid rate, peaking about 10 weeks into the pregnancy. Twins may produce an elevated level of HcG. However, the standard HcG level for twins also falls within the normal range for singletons.

AFP (Alphafetoprotein) screening is a blood test performed on pregnant mothers during the second trimester. Also known as maternal serum screening or triple marker screen, it is used to identify increased risks of certain birth defects. why yes it it actuactually my mom had me and my sister we r twins and then she had 2 bopys b4 us and now she is pregnant with 3 girls! IM SO ECTICTED
