It varies very much. Some women get a period about a month after giving birth. Some women do not get a period for months if they are fully breastfeeding. Just because you don't have a period does not mean you cannot get pregnant. Every Ob/Gyn (or GP) has seen women pregnant at the post-natal check. Also do not rely on breastfeeding as a contraceptive. I doesn't work like that. Every woman is different. I was breast feeding for a month and then had to stop. Then six weeks later got my first period. So all up it was ten weeks later. I don't even know if it matters if you breast feed or not to whether your period comes earlier or later. Anyway, like I said Everyone is different. Good Luck

It can take quite a while. It is longer if your nursing. I have 4 children and nursed the last 3. With the first, I had a period two months later. With the 2nd and 3rd, it was 6 months, and with the 4th, it was 15 months. I wowldn't worry about it. Enjoy not having it! It is truly different for everyone, some women come home from the hospital bleeding & this continues right into a period, others go months without it starting back up, usually it is irregular and will take some time to get back to what it was pre-pregnancy. Just remember you CAN get pregnant after having a baby even if you haven't had a period yet!

It varies for every woman, some women come home from the hospital bleeding & it continues right into a period others go months without a period, it is usually irregular when it starts & it may take a few cycles before it is back to what it was like before the pregnancy, then again it may never be the same, as your body has now changed. And you CAN get pregnant immediatley after giving birth even if you have NOT had a period yet!

After having a baby, you don't have a period, you have what is called lochia. Lochia is when the built-up womb lining breaks down after the baby is born because it is no longer needed. Because there is such a huge amount of womb-lining to break down, there is quite a lot of blood and it can last a while. Generally, there is less bleeding if you have a vaginal birth because a lot of the blood gets squeezed out with the baby, but in a caesarean it doesn't. Lochia can last around a month, although for some people it only lasts about 2 weeks

You tipicly get it after you have given birth but you can usually get away with not having it for as long as you want when you are breastfeeding.

It can depend on whether you breastfeed or not. I breastfed for a month and had to stop, and my period started a month after that.
