How Tall are Slalom Poles?
There are two different types of slalom poles known as the 'stubby gate' and the regular 'long pole'. Stubby poles are about 24in tall. The height of the gate is not all showing when it is in use. About 1/4 to 1/2 of the gate is screwed in the snow. Stubby gates are used for younger racers, and for some training purposes. The reagular long pole is about 6 feet tall. These gates are used for older racers and for other traing purposes.
