Nowadays, if you find yourself homeless in the U.S., youj'd call 211 on any payphone, and the operator will direct you to the nearest facilities available to help whatever situation you might be in. (theoretically) Shelters, food pantries, medical aid, government assistance offices, etc., would be the types of information the operator can relay, right there on any phone (ie. a pay phone if you had no cell)
The homeless do a variety of things to survive. For food it isn't uncommon for the homeless to dumpster dive. Which sounds unpalatable at first but one must keep in mind that grocery stores throw out tons of good food simply due to packaging defects. It is also common for the homeless to employ the services of food kitchens. For shelter the homeless either stay in shelters specifically for the homeless. But many refuse to do so as going to a shelter is basically asking for your possessions to be stolen and shelter workers tend not to be the types of people one would want to deal with (which is understandable considering how easy it is to get 'burnt out' in that career field). Instead some squat which means they live in unused buildings, some camp in parks, some have vehicles in which they live, and others simply sleep wherever they can find a safe spot to curl up in.
The vast majority of homeless however are people you never see. Most homeless are 'couch surfers' and you do not ever see them sleeping on park benches or begging for coins at the bus stop. They are merely people whom are down on their luck and are staying with various friends and families until they get back on their feet.
they may beg for money and steak out under a bridge. For my area they head to the forest to make little shelters by the river and cover it with plastic. These one are aggresive and tend to jump other people. (steal from them)
Homeless people use many techniques to support themselves, including scavaging, using services of charities, begging, and, believe it or not some even have jobs; these jobs don't pay enough to pay for deposit and first months rent on a room or apartment. The homeless try to find shelter or enough money for a cheap hotel/motel room but it's not always possible.
A few billion dollars of taxpayer money goes into the support of the homeless people. Because many countries support the homeless, the money that could have gone to other possible "candidates", went to support the homeless.. The economy goes down and we are in need of support.
If you don't they will stay homeless because you did not bother to help them support themselves with money, food, or something that will benefit them. With help, they can get a job and maybe earn a home, so helping can lead to turning a homeless person's life around.
Most cities have "street papers" or "homeless papers" which are usually sold by homeless people in order to support them. Some write about general news but most focus on homeless advocacy. They are a good way for people to start making an in income in order to get back on their feet.
Because the council doesn't care about other people, they just care about themselves and their money.
yes because they are mentally ill and cant take care of themselves
Give them food, job, medical, legal, psychological, and educational support.

Most people are homeless due to circumstances that have overwhelmed them combined with the lack of a family support structure. Others, particularly teens, often become homeless due to an actively hostile, perhaps even hazardous, abusive, or non-supportive family environment. Average people without a good friend and family support structure can be overwhelmed by events such as domestic abuse, divorce, unemployment, or illness and become homeless as well.
When the Maori people first settled in New Zealand they used weapons and a little technology to support themselves. They learned about deseases and how to stay healthy.
people make them self homeless if something bad happened to them like if they lose a partner they could think life is to hard to live without them and put them self on the streets. and because there idiots

Our social service network is pretty large and most towns over 50,000 have a homeless shelter that provides food and a place to stay. Some of them actually work. At day labor or temp jobs. Others collect cans, or do odd jobs. Some panhandle. Some, sad to say, steal.
