I stick a paper clip into the hole somewhere on the laptop for an emergency reset when the computer is frozen. The hole positions vary but they seem to be on all the laptops I have used. I also just hold down the start button until it stops Windows and turns off the power. Not a good way to shut down but sometimes needed. Then wait 30 seconds and press the button again to restart. Maybe this is not what you wanted?
