The engine temprature was low around 50 Celsius and had poor heat from the heater, I replaced the thermostat on my 2005 Jimmy and topped off the coolant levels. Everything seem to come back ok, Engine runing smoothly with good heat and engine just below 100 degree celcius. Then a couple of weeks later we got some real cold weather and ther was just lukewarm air coming from the air vent, engine still at 100 degree.with the engine turned off and just warm, I cut the return hose from the pump to the heater core spliced in a flush kit (hoses where empty) and proceeded to raise up and fill the the hose with premixed coolant DEX Cool. Had a few bubbles come up as I was filling and when it topped off i put the washer and cap on the bleed kit and drove the car for 20 minutes with good heat coming from the vents now.

Hope this helps

No heat after replacing heater core and thermostat?

You may have an air lock in the heater pipes some vehicles are fitted with bleed screws for this purpose.

Where is the heater bleed valve on a 1984 Jeep Cherokee?

Rarely do you find a bleeder valve on the heater. If there is one, it will be located on the highest point of the heater core connections from the engine. You can bleed the heater by turning it to hot and starting the engine. Use the bleeder valves on the engine or remove the radiator cap and run the engine until no more air bubbles are escaping. This should bleed all air from the heater core.

Why does the heater in your car only get hot when you accelorate?

you probably have air trapped in you heater core you shoud have it flushed/bleed to get the air out. the other possibility is a failing thermostat or water pump

If the heater works but blows cold air and heater core is good what do i check next?

Get the air out of your heater core.

How do you get hot air to come out when the heater is on?

First check the water level. Low level will not get to the heater core. Change the thermostat. If you recently changed the thermostat, bleed the coolant system.

How do you get air out of a heater core on a 97 s10?

Replace the radiator cap and be sure the coolant reservoir is kept full to the line, it will bleed itself.

Is a heater core and evaporator core the same?

no , the heater core is for your heat , the evaporator core is for your air conditioning ( cooling )

The core has been replaced but the heater doesn't work?

you need to bleed the air out of the heater core. The water pump draws coolant through it and if the cooler isn't full of fluid,it won't work. loosen off the hoses and allow the air out being careful not to get burnt if the engine is hot.

Antifreeze coming in air vents?

Your heater core is leaking, Need to REPLACE HEATER CORE.

How do you replace the Heater core on a 1984 Caprice Classic 305 that has air conditioning?

You have to take out the whole heater and air condiasioning system out and replace the new heater core in. When you replace the heater core, you firset have to put the air condiasoning system in then the heating system/ heater core. When you take the old systems out, you first have to take out the A.C then the heater.

I replaced the thermostat in my daughters 2000 passat and took it and had a coolant flush done and it still throws cold air. The mechanic told me the problem is coming from under the dash?

check the heater core to see if it is clogged make sure it flows well - volkswagons are common for having air when replacing cooling parts- volkswagons have special bleed procedure to bleed air out of cooling system- make sure water is flowing in and out of the heater core properly- the thermostat will not open to allow water to flow if there is air in the cooling system and then in tern will not flow through the heater core to allow you to feel warm air flow into the cabin
