Propane and LP gas is the same (liquid propane) You'll need to "re-jet" every gas device, meaning that you'll need to have someone take apart your water heater, furnace and possibly gas stove and replace the jets. Other than that, it shouldn't be much of a problem.
There usually is a metering device in gas valves for accepting natural gas and propane. You need to find out if yours has that ability or just purchase a new one which is inexpensive and probably the right way to go and install the new valve. That is the only adjustment needed.

You can't convert natural gas to propane because natural gas is methane and propane is what it says it is. Given that, there are Compressed Natural Gas cars, and if you get a natural gas compressor you can use it in a car.
