Technically, you don't. "Kilogram" is a unit of mass, which is a property of an object and

doesn't change, whereas "pound" is a unit of the object's weight, which changes

from place to place.

On Earth, 1 kilogram of mass weighs 2.205 pounds. In other places, it has a

different weight.
