Rules and regulations are the foundation of the public services, and discipline ensures that these rules and regulations are followed. Rules, regulations and orders all work together to ensure that everything which needs doing, gets done as efficiently as possible. Also when in very dangerous situations such as Afghanistan being disciplined, i.e. following rules, regulations and orders could save your life.
Discipline is vital to the effectiveness of the uniformed public services. In my opinion, I totally agree that there should be discipline within any of the uniformed public services as it ensures that each service is run efficiently. Members of the uniformed public services must have a very high level of self-discipline if they want to continue to have the public's trust in them, otherwise there wouldn't be any point to have these public services if the public don't even trust them as they wouldn't be relying on these services for help. This in my opinion could lead to the general public getting into more danger as there wouldn't be anyone to help with the situation. Discipline also helps the members of the uniformed public services to gain respect as well as having respect for others. Having discipline, especially in the uniformed public services furthermore helps to make the members follow the rules and regulations seriously and accordingly in order to maintain their good reputation and trust of the general public.
i prefer they do otherwise they would just do whatever they want . hence the term bent copper/policeman
