you can try and put it in a bag of rice for about 2 to 3 days because it is supposed to soak up all the water that is left, but just let the ipod dry out for a couple days or even a week, don't rush it.
If you have let the iPod dry for long period of time and it is still not booting, you may have destroyed the main board. If that is the case it will need to be replaced, look for an iPod repair center than can get you listening to your music again, I suggest whiteboxservice.com
