If your Catalytic converter has Pelets in it you can beat them out.They have a very thin coating of the metal and require 3215 degrees of heat, way to much heat for most to retrieve the Platinum but the pellets can be sold to recyclers. Note ID is required for most places to even discuss buying these pellets and you'll be getting a visit from your state's EPA officers to assure you are disposing of the remains properly. It's easier to sell the entire converter to a recycler. Prices range from 20 to 200 dollars as of June 19th, 2009 and they have all the headaches.
