You can tone and stregnthen your knees by doing a little exersise from a chair. Start in the bend position (normal sitting position), then raise your feet so they are level with your hips, but no further up than your hips. Hold for 5 seconds and bring them down again. Repeat that about 20 times. You can point your toes for added benefit. It will help your knees, it will stregnthen your legs and help to burn the extra fat. You can't lose fat in one particular area only, though (it is called 'spot reducing' and it isn't possible). You must eat right and exersise other parts of your body so there is balance. Good luck!

I have fat behind my kness too and although I tend to store my weight in the olwer body, I am a size 12 and so don't consider myself overweight. I looked for answers on other websites and lots of replies said that if you had fat knees, you muts be fat all over - that's just not true. I hired personal trainer for 6 months as I was training for the marathon - doing about 3 hours a week with her and another 3-5 hours by myself (lots of cardio, lunges, squats and legs weights). It did help me tone up all over and lose some weight (going down to a size 10) and there was a definite improvement in my leg shape (although not enough to make me want to show them off) but once I reduced the amount of exercise back down to a reasonable amount (about 3/4 hours a week) I'm afraid my old body shape returned. I am thinking about getting a trainer again but it's hard work, you have to be dedicated and it's expensive and time consuming - on the plus side, it does give results.

You cannot spot reduce fat in a specific area. You must reduce it all over your body. Aerobic exercise, toning or weight lifting, and diet are the only things that can help besides surgery.
