Ties are not the best choice for quilting because their fabric is neither strong nor washable. Any quilt made from ties could only be used for ornamental purposes (not on a bed) and would need to be professionally dry cleaned.

You may want to choose a pattern that lends itself to the wedge-shape of the ties, such as Dresden Plate, Baptist Fan or a Crazy Quilt random arrangement, stitched onto a foundation fabric rather than using batting. The pieced top and foundation should be bound to backing fabric with strong single stitches creating a "tied quilt" ( using knotted heavy thread, embroidery thread or pearl cotton.) Alternatively, you could use stitch-in-the-ditch quilting along strong seam lines, as long as no stitches are putting stress on the delicate fabrics.

The first step would be to take the ties apart, snipping the threads that hold them into shape and removing any lining. They should then be carefully pressed before cutting each tie into the size and shape to fit your quilt pattern.

With ties made of delicate silks, it would be helpful to apply a non-woven fusible backing, before cutting, to give the fabric enough weight and strength to hold together while being stitched.

After the quilt is constructed, you could add elaborate hand or machine embroidery along seam lines to give it an authentic Crazy Quilt style.
