How to prepare monthly safety report of an industry?

Answer:

Monthly safety Report is a kind of status report coupled with summary of ongoing activities. A MSR should consist of the following:

1. Tabular report on reportable and non-reportable injuries. Reportable injuries should be divided into minor (<20 days), serious (20 days or more) and fatal type with man days lost with cumulative figure running alongside. Previous year, same month figure may also be given for comparison. A brief description of serious injuries and if there is a fatality shall be appreciated. Some CEO like graphical presentation for quick consumption.

2. Brief report on dangerous occurrences, if any.

3. Status report on statutory examination of pressure vessels and lifting machine and tackles.

4. Visit of regulatory authorities, their purpose of visit and inferences.

5. Status of safety training.

6. Briefs oncelebrations namely Safety Day, World Environment day, Fire safety week etc.

7. Mock drill, if any, on disaster management.

There may be some specific issues for a particular industry such as statutory medical examination of employees, safety measures at construction site; ongoing safety audit etc. These may also be included.

If need be a PPP may also be prepared for monthly safety meetings.
