put the key in the keyhole and turn it while holding the detent(the little metal cylinder that sticks out of the flat portion of the outside of the unit) when you feel the detent drop that's where the key needs to be. now slide the whole thing just as it is into the socket on the steering column, making sure its completely seated. voila!

∙ 15y agoYou need to remove the panel located underneath the steering wheel. There are basically two panels one on top of each other. The first one is plastic and it's attached with plastic holders (easy to break them), and another one is made of metal and usually attached with 4 bolts. When you remove the panels, you will be able the get access to the ignition cylinder.
